U.S. Naval Shipborne High Energy Laser Weapon

The shipborne high energy laser weapon, as a new concept weapon, draws the attention of navy of many countries and is considered as the preferred choice for naval antimissile defense, for the advantages of quick response, good maneuverability, high shooting precision, low utilization cost, etc. The structural characteristics of mid-infrared advanced chemical laser/SeaLite beam director and solid state laser developed in U.S. are analyzed. A kind of conceptual design of free electron laser is introduced, which is in favor and developed greatly in U. A navy.
