Spiders are important predatory arthropods in the agroecosystem.Because spiders are generally aggressive and cannibalistic, they have evolved elaborate means to communicate with each other.Semiochemicals play a critical role in intra-and interspecific communication of spiders. Many researches revealed that spiders can release semiochemicals to convey information between males and females or between spiders and their prey species. However, just a few spider pheromones were identified till now.And the mechanism of producing and receiving of the spider pheromones need to be studied intensively. The research progress in spider semiochemicals was summarized in this review.
