Effect of Mulch in the Condition of Deep Tillage in Fallow Period on Accumulation of Grains Protein in Dryland Wheat

Field experiment was carried out to study the physiological mechanism of grain protein synthesizing and the effect on grain protein content and soil moisture under different materials covering and deep plowing mulching started in different time of leisure period.The results indicated that if deep plowing and mulching at 45 days after fore-rotating wheat harvest,the pre-sowing soil moisture at the depth of 120~300 cm increased and anthesis soil moisture at the depth of 0~300 cm(excl.of 80 cm) decreased compared to deep plowing and mulching 30 days ahead of time.The grain protein content and its components content,the protein yield and the ratio of Gliadin to Glutenin were all improved significantly,the flag leaf GS activity,flag leaf GOGAT activity in 10~15 d and 25 d after bloom were also improved,and the best result appeared under the water-permeability plastic-mulching.The results also showed that the pre-sowing soil moisture at the depth of 80~200 cm and the anthesis soil moisture at the depth of 260~280 cm were significantly related to flag leaf GS activity and GOGAT activity,and they had greater correlation with flag leaf GS activity.The grain protein content and and its components content,and the protein yield,and the ratio of Gliadin to Glutenin were also significantly related to flag leaf GS activity and GOGAT activity,and they,especially the ratio of Gliadin to Glutenin,had greater correlation with flag leaf GS activity.The pre-sowing and anthesis soil moisture at the depth of 120~300 cm were significantly related to the grain protein content and its components content,the pre-sowing soil moisture at the depth of 60~220 cm and the anthesis soil moisture at the depth of 240~300 cm were significantly related to the ratio of Gliadin to Glutenin.In brief,deep plowing and mulching after rain favored the storage of water,it was conducive to improve the deep soil moisture before sowing,Therefore,the quality of grain protein was eventually improved,especially under the water-permeability plastic-mulching.
