Tiered Pricing for Household Electricity in US,Japan and Korea and Useful Insights for China

Since oil crisis of 1970s,US,Japan and Korea started the tiered pricing for household electricity.Although with different grades and prices,tiered pricing systems in these three countries are following the same principle of "more electricity consumed more money charged",which safeguard low-income residents while saving power.China should take notes from US,Japan and Korea,and use tiered pricing system as a tool to guide residents to save power,to promote social equity and to safeguard low-income residents' living standard.
