High-precision Drive Power Supply for Nano-second and Narrow Pulsed QCL

In order to be able to utilize the Lambert-Beer's law and the basic principle of infrared spectroscopy to detect carbon monoxide gas detection,a high-precision drive power supply for nano-second and narrow pulsed quantum cascade laser( QCL) is designed. The main controller module of the system is the micro-controller of the TMS320F28335 processor as the core. Hardware circuit with double closed-loop control system to improve the accuracy and stability of the drive power supply. The software algorithm uses the digital PID to realize the constant driving current which can adjust the frequency,the duty cycle and the amplitude. The driving experiment of QCL laser with4. 65 micron center wave number is made by using the power source. The results show that the linearity of the system is99. 95% and the long term output current stability is reached 8 × 10-5,which can be applied to the detection of carbon monoxide gas.
