Compaction, Fluid Pressure and Potential System and Its Application

He Qianli(Dept. of Petroleum Geology, JPI)  
From the viewpoint of energy analysis, the most important factors relative to the migration of oil and gas, which are compaction, fluid pressure and potential, have been proposed as a united system. With this system, the depth and time of primary migration and the direction and possible accumulation places of second migration of oil and gas in Bozhong area have been concluded. The depth of the drainage of hydrocarbons is about 2750~3250m whereas the time is from depositional age of the Dongying formation to that of the Minghuazhen formation; The directions of second migration of hydrocarbons are mainly to the surrounding arch regions, and these hydrocarbons may be accumulated in the slope parts connecting arch region with depression.
