Sensitivity Analysis in Dynamic Structure Optimization

wo efficient methods for sensitivity analysis in dynamic shape optimization are presented in this paper. One is a semi - analytic method in which the derivatives of stiffness matrix and mass matrix are obtained by the difference technique. The method is simple but is governed by the difference step chosen. The other is an explicit function method for structural units, it adopts the boundary master node's coordinates as design variables, according to the mapping relations between design variables and element nodal coordinates,and to the relations between the element stiffness matrix or mass matrix and the element nodal coordinates, the derivatives of stiffness matrix and mass matrix are derived analytically. For a given example, two methods are used to analysis the sensitivity, the results show that two methods are effective.
