Research on enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic material

In China,the biomass that could be used to produce ethanol in large quantity is lignocellulose.The main challenges of ethanol production from lignocellulosic materials are the saccharification process by which lignocellulosics is transformed into sugar.Enzymatic hydrolysis is one of the key procedures in the fuel ethanol production from lignocellulosic materials.The cellulase and its mechanism of hydrolyzing lignocellulosic materials,the production of cellulose,and the affecting factors of enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic materials were reviewed.Some suggestions were given to improve efficiency and decrease the cost of enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic materials.
