ANALYSIS METHOD OF SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF LAND USE IN RELATION TO TOPOGRAPHY

Based aerial photo interpretation, field survey and statistical analysis by GIS. The spatial distribution of land use and its relation to several terrain indices are studied in Zhuanyaogou watershed (29km2) in the Hilly Area of Loess Plateau in China. The results show that analysis of land use and its relation to slope, aspect and elevation based grid cells is a available method for quantitative analysis about topography distribution characteristics of land use. The study is very useful to land use of the Loess Plateau.
