Correlation among Internet Using Motivation、Personality and Internet Addiction in College Students

Objective To explore the relationship among internet using motivation、personality and Internet addiction in college students.Methods 286 university uate students in two universities in Changsha city completed a questionnaire which consisted of the EPQ-RC、 Internet addiction scale and Internet using motivation scale. Results (1)The scores of college students in internet using motivation of the virtual social contact、anonymous contacting、self-confidence and products information were positively correlated with internet addiction. (2)The scores of college students in internet using motivation of self-confidence and products information were positively correlated with EPQ-N scores. The scores of college students in internet using motivation of social contacting and social studying were positively correlated with EPQ-E scores. (3)The scores of college students in internet addiction scale were positively correlated with EPQ-N scores. Conclusion The more the internet using motivation tends to on the virtual social contact、anonymous contacting、 self-confidence and products information, the more the probability of internet addiction will be found. And EPQ-N plays important roles in college students' internet addiction and internet using motivation.
