Image Enhancement of Finger-vein Patterns Based on Wavelet Denoising and Histogram Template Equalization

We proposed a new method to enhance the contrast of the finger-vein image.The method consists of three parts: wavelet denoising,contrast enhancement and binary image.In wavelet denosing,we made use of the different characteristics of each frequency band and finger-vein after wavelet transform to design different methods of denosing.In contrast enhancement,we designed histogram template equalization method.With the aid of this method,the contrast of the finger-vein image can be properly enhanced.In binary image,we just used the OTSU method.The experimental results show that our method is effective.
