Air pollution and natural ventilation in underground car park

Based on the survey and measure of the three typical underground car parks in Changchun,Shenyang and Bejing,carbon monoxide concentrations did not exceed the standard limits in the condition of no mechanical ventilation.In the winter of severe cold or cold zones,natural ventilation rates of buoyancy driven flow can meet ventilation requirement basically in underground car park.In summer the natural ventilation rates of buoyancy driven flow decrease,in the meantime the cold start and idle emissions of cars are significantly lower in summer than in winter.Calculation of natural ventilation rates by tracer gas decay method was proposed,and definition of indoor criterion of carbon monoxide concentration limit and the carbon monoxide emission from cars were discussed.
