An Experimental Study of the Effect of the Abstract of Arctiamlappa on the Exhaustion Time,Testosterone and Cortisol Levels of the Rat

To investigate the effect of the abstracts of arctiamlappa on the strength exhaustion of the rat,we chose as the subject for experiment male rats,which were divided into three groups:the inactive group,the active group and the medicine-taking group,and study the kinetism,and the variation of the blood contents of testosterone and blood contents of cortisol of the rats during strength exhaustion.The experiments have yielded the following results:the abstracts of arctiamlappa can greatly lengthen the exhaustion time of the mouse running on the training platform;high intensity training can result in the decrease of the blood contents of testosterone and the rise of blood contents of cortisol;arctiin can increase the rat's blood contents of testosterone and greatly reduce the level of cortisol in the blood.To conclude,arctiin can lengthen the endurance of the rat running on the training platform till exhaustion time,thus it has the function of resisting fatigue and this function of resisting fatigue may be related to its ability to raise the level of blood contents of the testosterone and decline of the level of cortisol in the blood.
