A New Signal Processing Method for Coriolis Mass Flowmeter

In order to accurately measure mass flowrate from signals which have various disturbances, a new signal processing method is proposed for Coriolis mass flowmeter in this paper. Decimation filters filter the output signals of two sensors in Coriolis mass flowmeter, suppress the random noises, and reduce the number of samples. The decimated signals are then applied to adaptive notch filters to reject harmonic, measure the fundamental frequency of the vibrating flow tubes, and track the variable fundamental frequency. Phase difference and time delay at the fundamental frequency of the vibrating flow tube are computed by discrete Fourier transform, the mass flowrate is obtained. The results of simulations have proved the effectiveness and accuracy of the method.
