A Method of Power Measurement Using Wavelet Transform

According to request of national and international standards for power quality, the paper provides a new method based on wavelet transform of RMS and power measurements of nonsine wave current (voltage). In multiresolution analysis, wavelet subband filter is used as decomposing nonsine wave signals and getting wavelet coefficients in different frequency band component. The RMS and power will be calculated using wavelet coefficients. Furthermore, we have got a good result by analyzing a short-time signal using fast wavelet transform algorithm, which gives an effective approach for the fast and precise measurement of power in engineer application.
