Second Generation Wavelet Transform for Power Measurement

When using the method based on the first generation wavelet transform of sub-band RMS for power measurement,the algorithm speed is low and unsuitable for the hardware realization.As results,the algorithm is not used popularly in practical application.Considering the problems above,at first the lifting process is deeply studied and the coefficients of Db4 lifting wavelet are deduced,secondly a novel sub-band RMS and power measurement method is proposed,which is based on the second generation wavelet.According to the computer simulation experiment using Db lifting wavelets,the algorithm accuracy is better than 10~(-3),and the speed is twice faster than the algorithm based on the first generation wavelet transform.
