A TEST ON THE CONTROL OF WHITESTRIPED LONGICORN BEETLE

Fan Meizhen Li Nongchang Guo Chao (Northwest Forestry College)
Whitestriped longicorn beetles (Batocera horsfieldi) are controlled to an effective degree by microbial pesticide, bactericidal sticks and contact insecticide fumigant sticks. The low-dozed chemical pesticide and fungic insecticide in mixture are proved to be effective. 11 out of 12 kinds of bactericidal sticks employed are tested to be over 84% in their effectiveness. If the fumigant sticks are coated with contact insecticide, the effectiveness of beetle control increases , particularly when applied in the maximum activity (11 a.m.-3 P.m.) of whitestriped longicorn beetles.
