The clinical research of Okra in treatment of diabetic nephropathy

Objective To observe the clinical efficacies of Okra on diabetic nephropathy. Method 72 patients of diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into control group (35 cases, traditional therapy) and treatment group (37 cases, traditional therapy+Okra),the duration was 6 months. Creatinine, blood uria nitrogen, triglyceride, total cholesterol, uric acid were determined in all the patients before and after the treatment. Results There was the obvious reduction in urine protein and uric acid of the treatment group (P0.05). There was no obvious change in plasma globulin and cholesterol between the treatment group and the control group. Conclusion Okra is a better efficient treatment agent for diabetic nephropathy.
