Study of regional cell immune response on ultrasound guided superantigen injection with anhydrous ethanol injection therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma

Objective To study the local immune response of injecting highly agglutinative staphylococci(HAS) as superantigen into the tumor areas of liver cancer patients combing with percutaneous anhydrous ethanol injection therapy(PEIT) under ultrasound guided.Methods All the 46 cases of liver cancer patients who were approved by pathology were treated by PEIT.Then the patients were given injection of HAS 1600 units into the local tumor areas in the third,forth and seventh week.The patients were given percutaneous biopsy about hepatic inactive focus under ultrasound guided before percutaneous HAS injection.Therapy(PHIT) and one week later.All the samples were stained by HE and immunohistochemical methods.The infiltration of CD3+、CD4+、CD8+、CD57+and CD68+ of local treatment areas were compared before and after PHIT.Results(1)After local injection of HAS,the degree of infiltration of CD3+,CD4+,CD57+and CD68+ increased in different extent as compared with those of pre-PHIT(P0.01).And they lasted to one month after injection of HAS(P0.05).The increased immunocytes were functioning powerfully after PHIT.(2)After local injection of HAS,the local postive infiltration of IL-2 increased significantly than that of pre-PHIT(P0.05).Conclusion The local cellular immunity of liver carcinoma can be more improved after the tumor was treated by PHIT.It might repel tumor recrudescence and reduce the recrudescence rate.
