Influence of microwave heat-treatment on properties of La-Ni-Pt nano-alloy catalysts

AB_5-type La-Ni-Pt nano-alloy were prepared using modified polyol process with ethylene glycol,polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)and hydrazine as reaction medium,protective agent and reducing agent,respectively.Microwave liquid phase heat-treatment with high pressures was employed.The influence of microwave heat-treatment with high temperature and pressure on crystalline structure and morphology was evaluated by XRD,TEM and SEM.The results reveal that compared to conventional solid phase heat-treatment,the alloying of Pt with La and Ni can occur by microwave liquid phase heat-treatment at the low calcination temperature of 400-600℃ for 120s without significant growth of grains and particles of La-Ni-Pt nano-alloy.Used as anode materials,the sample with microwave heat-treatment shows high electrocatalytic activities,compared to the sample without microwave heat-reatment.
