Effect factors on SiC prepared by micro-wave sintering

As reactors,coke and quartz sand are added,and silicon carbide powder with different grain size was prepared by microwave heating method.The effects of reaction temperature(1300-1600 ℃),holding time(15-60 min) and particle size of coke on phase,productivity and particle size of silicon carbide powder were studied.The results show that SiC micro powder can be prepared at 1600 ℃×30 min and the content of SiC can reach 98.1%;SiC powder with 8.6 μm and 156.9 μm of D50 can be got by controlling the size of coke particle.This method has cheap raw materials,simple technology,and it is easy to realize industrialization.
