Progresses in Studies on(Ti,Ni,Fe)-Al Nanocrystalline Intermetallics and Composites

In rcent years,great interest has been taken in the development of(Ti,Ni,Fe)-Al intermetallics for use as middle/high temperature structural materials and aerospace applications.The developments of the nanocrystalline intermetallics and composites synthesized by mechanical alloying may overcome intrinsic brittleness at room temperature and low creep strength at high temperature of the intermetallics.The current researches on the techniques of mechanical alloying and sintering,and the mechanical properties of the nanocrystalline intermetallics and composites were reviewed.Finally,the shortcomings in these researches and the future research fields were pointed out.
