Fe74Cr2Mo2Sn2P10Si4B4C2 flakes were prepared by water atomization and ball milling. The microwave absorbers of flakes oriented distributed were prepared by coating process and the random distributed ones were prepared by non-coating process. The effect of orientation on the electromagnetic properties was discussed. The results showed that the complex permeability of flakes oriented distributed absorbers is higher than that of random distributed ones, whereas the complex permittivity is much lower,μ'=20.1,ε'=110 for oriented distributed absorbers and μ'=14.4,ε'=194 for random distributed ones at frequency of 10 MHz.A relation between degree of orientation and permeability was proposed and agrees well with the experimental data.
