A Survey of Virtual Maintenance Technology

As an emerging engineering science,virtual maintenance attracts extensive attention from both industry and academia. Differences and common issues between virtual maintenance,virtual assembly,maintenance simulation,and maintainability visualization are investigated. The technical implication of virtual maintenance is analyzed,and its characteristics,research topics and key technologies are summarized. The definitions of virtual maintenance are given from both the general and narrow sense. The existing problems and future trends are outlined.
