Research & realization of reliability management of manufacturing grid

As the grid application in manufacturing, the reliability of Manufacturing Grid (MG) is the fundamental assurance to provide effective services to user. To manage the dispersed and heterogeneous resources, the MG Reliability Management system (MGRM) was proposed. Based on the analysis of the MG's characteristics, advantages and architecture, the definition of the MG system reliability was presented. The hierarchical description of the resources in the MG system was given according to the different resource attributes of real-time concerned. Then, a reliability management solution was proposed: the reliability managing strategies were defined differently in the different hierarchies, and the system reliability evaluation based on the stratified weighted average means was expatiated according to the managing strategies. Furthermore, the framework of the MGRM was constructed which performed the reliability management for the resources in the MG. The given application instance proved that the MGRM managed the dispersed resources effectively and improved the reliability of the MG system.
