MOTION ESTIMATION FROM A LONG SEQUENCE OF IMAGES USING NONLINEAR KALMAN FILTER

This paper discusses a kinematic model-based approach of estimating the object motion parameters from a long sequence of noisy stereo images using Kalman filtering. To alleviate divergence of the filter,a linear algorithm for generating initial state guess is proposed. Results of computer simulation are also given.
