Research on Estimating SOC of Lithium-ion Battery Based on Improved Kalman Filter

Because of the advantages of eco-friendly,long cycle lifetime and low self-discharge rate,lithium-ion batteries have been widely used in recent years. As one of the most important indicators of the battery,SOC estimation plays a vital role in achieving best performance of the lithium-ion battery. In this paper,we selected open circuit voltage and Ah counting method as the basis for SOC estimation algorithm,and used the improved Kalman filter algorithm to correct the errors. The method was divided into three states. The improved algorithm can simplify the calculation and ensure the accuracy of the estimation. Finally the simulation was done with Simulink. The result shows that the accurate estimation of SOC can be obtained by using this approach.
