Analysis of Combining Ability of Main Agronomic Characters in Two-line Hybrid Rice (Oryza sativa L.subsp.indica)

Four PGMS lines and 13 restoring lines of two-line indica hybrid rice were selected as parents to analyze the combining ability of 8 characters by the way of p×q incomplete diallele cross (NCⅡ) design.The results showed that both general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) of all the characters were significant at 1% level.The role of GCA was more important than SCA for most characters except for filled grains and grain yield per plant,and the role of GCA for restoring lines was greater than that for sterile lines.Sterile line (3087S),(Shuguang 612S) and restoring line indica 10038,(C418),(Lunhui 422) and (Nanjing 16) showed greater GCA and SCA variance for main agronomic characters.
