Mapping of QTLs for length of basal dehiscence of thecae in rice using TD70/Kasalath RIL population

Two hundred and forty recombinant inbred lines( RIL) derived from a cross between japonica rice TD70 / Kasalath and its linkage map including 141 SSR markers were used to map QTLs controlling length of basal dehiscence of thecae( LDBT). Two QTLs controlling LDBT were detected on chromosomes 6 and 8,respectively. q LDBT6 was mapped between the marker RM3 and RM3628 on chromosome 6 with the LOD value of 3. 23. q LDBT8 was mapped between the marker RM1376-RM4085 on chromosome 8 with the LOD value of 2. 95. The LDBT of RILs had significant positive correlations with width of flag leaf,grain weight,grain width,grain length and grain thickness. No significant correlation was found between LDBT and plant height,heading date,number of tillers,length of flag leaf,average temperature at heading,and maximum temperature at heading,etc.
