THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT METHODS OF INOCULATION AND INVESTIGATION ON GENETIC RESEARCH OF RESISTANCE TO RICE SHEATH BLIGHT

Pan Xuebiao Chen Zongxiang Xu Jingyou Tong Yunhui Wang Zibin Pan Xingyuan (Dept. of Agron., Jiansu Agric. Coll., Yangzhou 225009)  
The usability of the different inoculation and investigation methods in genetical research on resistance to rice sheath blight was studied. The results indicate that the insertion of R. solani infected short toothpicks is the best method to distinguish the differentiation of rice cultivars in resistance to sheath blight . The best investigation time is on about the 30th day after heading or at the beginning stage of disease after inoculation. The investigation in the period from elongating to heading stage can not distinguish the differentiation well. The usability of different investigation items was discussed.
