Study and application for organic matter cutting tool steel

Based on the analysis of performance and design requirements for organic matter cutting tool steel,a new type cutting tool steel with high carbon and low alloy was produced.Using secondary phase refining grain boundary in combination with low-temperature secondary hardening process,68-72 HRC of hardness was obtained,balanced with a certain toughness.The steel has been applied to tobacco stem untwining tool and blade-vein split tool,as well as other organic matter cutting tool,both the performance and life of the developed steel are higher than those of the same type steels,
