THE NONOVERLAPPING DDM BASED ON NATURAL BOUNDARY REDUCTION FOR 2-D EXTERIOR HELMHOLTZ PROBLEM

In this paper, based on natural boundary reduction suggested by Feng and Yu, an nonoverlapping domain decomposition method with its discretization is presented for the exterior problem of 2-D Helmholtz equation. The convergence of the D-N alternating algorithm and its discretization are studied. Some numerical results are given.

5 Li Ruixia (Shanghai Teachers' College of Technology) In this paper the author deals with the coupling procedure of the boundary element method and the finite element method for a boundary value problem of the Helmholts equation in the plane exterior to a thin strip, derives the variational formula and treats the singularities of the solution at the tips through augmenting the finite element space with the singular functions and using the singular elements. Various' numerical results are compared.
