Application of RP-3 Aviation Kerosene in High Pressure Common Rail Diesel Engine

To study the combustion characteristics of aviation kerosene in diesel engine,the paper studies the combustion process of a high pressure common rail diesel engine,and compares the combustion with diesel oil under full load. The result shows that the heat release peak of premixed combustion and diffusion combustion are lower than that of diesel oil. The combustion phase of kerosene deviates to left comparing to that of diesel oil at lower rotational speed,and it is opposite at higher rotational speed. At medium-low rotational speed,the ignition delay period is decreased,and the peak combustion pressure and maximum pressure rise rate are increased,and the engine operates roughly. At high rotational speed,the ignition delay period is increased,and the peak combustion pressure and maximum pressure rise rate are decreased,and the engine operates smoothly.
