Reconsidering “Class Solidification” :From Historical Perspective and International Perspective
CHEN You-hua;SHI Yi-ni;School of Social and Behavioral Sciences,Nanjing University;
By examining "class solidification"form the historical and international perspectives,we can find,it is prevalent that descendants inherit the social status and wealth of their fathers both in traditional Chinese society and in modern western societies and eastern Asian societies. The difference is only with the extent. However,this does not mean that the solidification in Chinese society is reasonable to be ignored. Instead,the government should be aware of the social consequences of stratification,and systematically create positive channels for improving social mobility. At the same time,people should keep reflection on the discourses of class solidification,to avoid falling into the "self-realization of the prophecy".
