A case control study of Beck's cognitive behaviour therapy in treatment of type-2 diabetes

Objective: To investigate the efficiency of the Beck's Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in the treatment of type-2 diabetes.Methods: 61 patients were randomly divided into two groups,one group were only treated with the Antidiabetic,the other group were additionalluy treated by Beck's Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.BDI,BAI,SCL-90,FBG,2Hpg and HbA1c were measured at the 8th week and the 6th month respectively after the beginning of treatment.Results:Compare to the patients only used Autidiabetic,the patients treated with Beck's Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Antidiabetic had significantly lower score of BDI,BAI,SCL-90 and lower FBG,2Hpg and HbA1c at the 8th week and the 6th month.Conclusion:Beck's Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is valuable in treatment of type-2 diabetes.
