Analysis of Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Linear Feed System with Double Ball Screw

Feed systems with double ball screw are used increasingly and widely in high-speed,high-precision and heavyduty machine tools,and its static and dynamic characteristics have a big influence on the machine tools' performance.By taking a double ball screw feed system as study example,the static and dynamic characteristics are analyzed based on ANSYS,and the result is compared with a single ball screw feed system.It proves that under the condition of the same crosssectional area of ball screws,the static stiffness of double ball screw feed system is(34~37)% higher than the single ball screw feed system,and the free frequency of vibration mode along screw's axial direction and weak link are 21% higher.
