STUDY ON SOLUBLE POLYSACCHARIDE BY ACID EXTRACTION FROM PLEUROTUS CITRINOPILEATUS——ISOLATION,PURIFICATION AND STRUCTURAL DETERMINATION OF PC-3

The water-soluble polysaccharide PC-3 is isolated by 3% trichloroacetic acid extraction from fruit bodies of Pleurotus citrinopileatus and further graded and purified.PC- 3 was proved homogeneous by chromatography on Sepharose CL-4B column and by cellulose acetate film electrophoresis,etc.PC-3 contains Gal and Man in a molar ratio of 2.5∶1.0.Its molecular weight is about 67000.The structure of PC-3 was determined by periodate oxidation, Smith degration,methylation,G.C,and G.C.-M.S.,I.R and ~1H-NMR,~(13)C-NMR etc.The main chain of PC-3 molecular is composed of α(1→6) linked Gal,side chain is μ(1→2) Man.
