A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON XIANGKOU-HUKOU D'ECOLLEMENT FRACTURE

Xiang Xinkui; Liu Nanqin;Chen Mousong(NO.916 Geological Party,JBGED)
Xiangkou-Hukou d'ecollement fracture developed along the structural surface of weakness between the Upper Devonian Wutong formation and the middle Carboniferous Huanglong formation. The occurrence of most part of section is consistent with that of stratigraphy, namely, local tangential fault, trending north in total and dipping towards northwest. The hangingwall is Carboniferous-Permian carbonate, while th footwall is the lower Silurian-Devonian elastic rock, which represents the property of the normal fracture that the hanging wall slides towards the northwest. The fracture was mainly formed during the Indo-Chinese-Yanshanian period, belonging to the interlayer d' ecollement within the sedimentary cover over the background of large-scale rift and depression structure. This fracture was undergone weak activity during the early and middle Pleistocene Epoch, but no activity since Late Pleistocene Epoch.
