Design of Low Current Plasma-Gun for Plasma Deposition Manufacturing

ZHANG Hai-ou, ZOU Hai-ping, WANG Gui-lan (State Key Laboratory of Plastic Forming Simulation and Die & Mould Technology, Wuhan 430074, China)  
Meeting the requirement of plasma deposition direct metal component manufacturing technique, a kind of low current plasma-gun characterized by ring-shape bulge powder channels, tungsten electrode coaxial orientation localizer, direct cooling plasma nozzle have been designed. Experiments indicate on low transfer-arc welding current condition the plasma welding trace appearance are thin, slippery and formal. Also the design structure of gun body ,nozzle ,powder deliver channel and cooling system can ensure the plasma-gun keeping long-term welding performance which important for plasma deposition direct metal component manufacturing.
