Study of Adsorption Mechanism of Chitosan Gel for Protein

An animated gel was prepared from chitosan through solidification,gelation,cross-linking and reduction,and its adsorbent characteristics for protein were discussed.Kinetic studies showed that at initial albumin bovine serum concentration of 1 mg/mL and pH=6.0,adsorption reached the balance in 30 min.The first-order rate constant for albumin bovine serum was calculated to be 15.63 h~(-1)according to Lagergren equation.At the adsorption equilibrium the experimental data was fitted into the Langmuir and Freundlich relationships.IR spectra studies indicated that the interaction between gel and protein or enzyme was chiefly through electrostatic attraction in the form of hydrogen bond.
