Preparation and Characterization of Starch Microspheres as Drug-carrier

Using cyclohexane and chloroform(V(cyclohexane)∶V(chloroform)=4∶1) as oil phase,starch solution as aqueous phase,and Span 80 and Tween 60(m(Span 60)∶m(Tween 60)=3∶2) as complex surfactant,starch microspheres were synthesized by inverse emulsion polymerization with N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide as precrosslinker and epichlorohydrin as crosslinking agent.The product was characterized by FTIR,SEM and granularity analyzer.The results show that the average particle size of the starch microspheres is about 14.7 μm and 83% of the microspheres is distributed in the range 6~30 μm.The microspheres are round,smooth and densified,which can be used as a kind of good drug-carrier or adsorbents.
