A Study on Dynamic Shape Optimization of Beam-plate Structure

Using Sequential Quadratic Programming method, BFGS variable metric method and quadratic interpolation method, the dynamic shape optimization of beam-plate structure has been studied. This method transfers the constrained optimization problems into unconstrained optimization problems so that it provides a practical dynamic shape optimization method in engineering. Figurel and Figure2 show the original structure and optimum design respectively. Numerical examples have showed that this method can modify the structure's dynamic characters effectively and can provide an alternative better original structure for designers. The proposed shape optimization method can also be extended to the field of other optimization problem and other more complex structures in principle.
