The Quantitative Prediction of Shock Noise from Gear Transmission

Based on gear meshing theory, the effect of the working error and elastic deformation of gear on gear meshing was analyzed. The shock speed and shock time of gear transmission are derived. Using the acoustica l theory, the acoustical characteristic parameters, i.e. the sound pressure and sound radiation power etc, generated at being in gear mesh have been computed. I t can be used to estimate the gear shock acceleration noise. It is a new method for the study of gear noise.
