Research of Fuzzy Evaluation and Decision of Assembly Sequences Based on Set-Pair Analysis

Several approaches of assembly sequences evaluation and decision are summarized. A new approach is proposed, in which the theory of set-pair analysis as well as fuzzy evaluation and decision are applied to analyze and evaluate assembly sequences. The objective of assembly sequences evaluation is to find the sequence which is more cost-effective, and the evaluation factors are assembly concurrent degree of product, the times of reorientation and gripper replacements. Abundant information of evaluation is available in using this approach, and an objective and comprehensive solution of assembly sequence evaluation can be achieved. The approach is applied to the assembly sequences evaluation and decision of a gear-pump, and the tesult is consistent with practical engineering.
