The Effects of Rotenone and Six Nemacide Medicines on Bursaphelenchus xylophilus

Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is a truculent nematode which would exterminate all the pine trees in a region.It is a difficult and time-taking task to find effective pesticides to deal with Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.In this paper,the effects of rotenone and six nemacide medicines on Bursaphelenchus xylophilus are assayed.Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is far more sensitive to rotenone than to nemacur, a famous nemathelminth AchE inhibitor.The LC_(50) of rotenone,albendazole, mebendazole,flubendazole,oxfendazole,levamisole phosphorous ester and levamisole hydrochloric ester to Bursaphelenchus xylophilus are 1.86 μg/mL,2.11 μg/mL,9.77 μg/mL,5.38 μg/mL,6.66 μg/mL,1.14 μg/mL and 1.40μg/mL respectively,the mitochondrial respiratory chain inhibitor rotenone and the inhibitor of respiratory metabolism nemacide albendazole,levamisole phosphorous ester and levamisole hydrochloric ester are most effective to Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.The respiratory and energy metabolism system is a susceptible target of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.
