ZENG Qiang1,2(1.College of Agronomy,Hunan Agricultural University,Changsha 410128,China;2.Shaowu Tobacco Company of Fujian Province,Shaowu 354000,China)
Effects of different mulch ways in flue-cured tobacco field on the soil temperature and water content, growth, development and economic traits of flue-cured tobacco,as well as labor cost were discussed in this paper. The results were as follows: at the early growth and developmental stage, although the soil temperature in the treatment of covering with straw was lower than that of covering with plastic film, the soil water content was on the contrary. At the later growing stage,in comparison with covering with plastic film, covering with rice straw could decrease the soil temperature and water content, promote the development of root system, reduce the occurrence of the disease caused by Pseudomonas solanacearum, was propitious to the growth and maturity of tobacco leaves, and the economic traits and chemical compositions of the tobacco leaves after being flue-cured were better.Considering the total labor cost, the treatment which covered with rice straw in the whole tobacco growing period could save 264.83 yuan/667m2 and its economic benefit was the highest, thus it was suitable for flue-cured tobacco in Shaowu.
