Analysis of Relationships between Potassium Content,Chlorine Content,Ratio of Potassium to Chlorine in Flue-cured Tobacco Leaves and Smoking Gas Indices

The relationships between the potassium content,chlorine content,ratio of potassium to chlorine in tobacco leaves and the smoking gas indices were studied with 94 samples of flue-cured tobacco leaves produced in 16 provinces(cities) of China.The results indicated that potassium content had significant influence on the smoking gas indices of flue-cured tobacco,and the TPM content,nicotine content,tar content,CO content and puff number of smoking gas showed decreasing trend when the potassium content increased.The regressive relationships between potassium content and all indices of smoking gas were extremely significant..The chlorine content in flue-cured tobacco leaves just showed extremely significant curve regressive relationship with the puff number.The ratio of potassium to chlorine had significant negative correlation with TPM content,and it also had significant or very significant regressive relationships with the nicotine content,tar content,CO content and puff number of smoking gas.
