Design of automatic mooring chain magnetic powder testing device

To change the current situation that the magnetic powder testing of mooring chain is completely conducted by operator by hands,and improve the covering accuracy of the detection,an automatic mooring chain magnetic powder testing device which filled in the gap of the domestic field was developed.This device is mainly composed of four parts:the vertical scanning mechanism,the rotational mechanism,the probe linear motion mechanism and the probe self adaptive mechanism.There are 6 degrees of freedoms in all.The static strength and rigidity as well as the dynamic characteristics verification of the transverse large span vertical scanning mechanism in this mechanism was carried out by applying the finite element analysis software-ABAQUS.The results show that the strength and rigidity of the vertical scanning mechanism is reliable,the natural frequencies are far apart from the driving fluctuant frequency,the structure has good dynamic characteristics.
