RESEARCH PROGRESSES IN REDUCTION OF DINITROTOLUENE TO TOLUENE DIAMINE

Research progresses in the reduction of dinitrotoluene for the preparation of toluene diamine were reviewed.The processes of the chemical reduction technology,the catalytic hydrogenation tech- nology,and the catalytic reduction using CO/H_2O were introduced.The influencing factors,the ad- vantages and disadvantages,and the potential applications of the forenamed each method were also discussed.The catalytic hydrogenation technology has many advantages,such as high yield,low cost, little pollution,etc.,so it is a more prospective technology for further development.Finally,the metal catalysts used in the catalytic hydrogenation technology were summarized.
