The Methodological Value of Understanding in Moral Education

SUN Jin-ming (School of Education Science,Jiangxi Normal University, Nanchang 330027,China)  
As the core conception and content in Philosophical Hermeneutics, understanding, as far as moral education is concerned, possesses methodological value in both direct and indirect senses. The former requires that moral education consider both rational and irrational elements while the latter that understanding give immediate guidence to the theory and practice in moral education. And both values are able to be embodied at three levels in moral education: the establishment of contents, the exploration of rules, and the choice and adoption of methods.
